About Studio Astrum

Unpolished voices. Uncomfortable truths. Unforgettable words.

An hour of monologues that are as sharp as they are absurd, where everyday life is stripped bare and held up to both laughter and reflection. Written by Polish scriptwriter Marian Papis, these pieces are performed by young Ukrainian voices alongside an English-speaking Pole. The accents are not polished by design: they are raw, real, and honest — echoing the unvarnished truths within the texts.

The monologues range from the satirical to the grotesque, moving effortlessly between humor and discomfort. They ask what civilization has become, why politics repeats itself, how love, vanity, and technology shape us, and why the absurd theatre of everyday life is sometimes the truest stage of all.

Performed with energy and edge, the words invite audiences to laugh first, think later, and return again to the questions they would rather avoid. At once playful, provocative, and reflective, this is spoken theatre designed to leave a mark long after the final line has been heard.
